About

Nina Selina Kern is a Vienna-based multidisciplinary artist navigating
between costume design, handcraft and performance. With @e__ncore
she explores an intuitive approach towards contemporary jewelry and garments. 
Drawing inspiration from nature, her pieces often resemble parts of insects, 
plants, wood or fluid forms that could appear in- and outside of bodies. The 
work process is led by an attraction to materials, structures and physical states; 
especially shifts from one to another.
Growing up with a wood-workshop beside her house, she felt a connection 
towards materials from an early age. What started with an interest in and an 
increasing understanding of wood, expanded over time and spans from fabrics, 
to latex, wax, precious metals, pearls, gemstones and glass. It can be described
best as tactile excitement for whatever she is holding in her hands.
